Prostate Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that freezes cancerous tissue in the prostate without the use of radiation. Cyrotherapy is effective, fast, easy to recover from, and has fewer complications than surgery.
After anesthetizing the patient, needles are inserted into the prostate which freeze and kill off diseased tissue such as cancerous cells. Ultrasound imaging provides a clear map of this process and provides confident needle placement. Contrast imaging can also be used to follow-up after ablative treatment to ensure there is no vascularity and the targeted cells have been destroyed.
